Entertainment
Systems:
Sarcos'
Entertainment Engineering is focused on developing robotic figures and virtual
reality interfaces.
PERFORMANCE
Sarcos entertainment robots are constructed of
proprietary subsystems that achieve high reliability, low cost, and very
high performance in both speed and grace. They can be telecontrolled by
a remote operator wearing a SenSuit or by a computer controlled playback
of a preprogrammed show.
ENGINEERING DESIGN
Sarcos uses advanced CAD-based systems such
as Pro/Engineer and Alpha-One for machine design. These systems provide
direct interfaces to animation, analysis, and CAM/CNC software. Sarcos'
state-of-the-art fabrication techniques are used to produce reliable entertainment
systems in a wide variety of configurations and sizes.
AESTHETIC DESIGN
Sarcos' robots are not only the most technically
advanced in the world, but are also reliable, economical, and aesthetically
pleasing. Corporate staff includes leading designers, artists, and craftspeople
who style the robots. Concept development and graphic renderings are supported
by a complete sculpting facility where high-performance skins and other
coverings are produced. Robots can be made to look like people, machines,
animals, creatures, androids, or other forms.
OTHER SYSTEMS
In addition to robots, Sarcos manufactures
a number of entertainment systems that include virtual reality displays
and human-to-computer interfaces that allow realtime mobility and dexterity
within synthetic environments. Many of these systems, which were originally
developed for military simulation purposes, are also ideal for use in the
entertainment field.
