Ben invests in emerging industrial technology companies and is focused on working with early-stage companies to develop innovative solutions across the electricity value network. He also works in the ever-expanding sector of connected buildings and cities.
Ben joined GE in 2012, where he worked for GE Capital’s Energy Financial Services Team. As a Venture Capital Consultant, he focused on investments in energy technology companies and collaborations with GE’s industrial businesses.
Previously, he was a Project Manager of Steam Expander Technology Development at Mechanology, Inc., in Attleboro, Massachusetts. He managed a development project to design and manufacture a 30kW positive displacement steam expander. Ben also analyzed and developed business cases and value propositions for applications including distributed generation, waste heat recovery, and boiler pump direct-drive.
He was a Development Engineer in Compressor Technology at Mechanology, where he was a member of an engineering team developing oil-free positive displacement oscillating vane air compressors.
Ben holds multiple degrees from Dartmouth College including a master’s degree in Engineering Management and bachelor’s degrees in Mechanical Engineering and Engineering Sciences.
