Dr. David Rowatt
SVP, Product Engineering & Manufacturing
Dr. David Rowatt, Ph.D., serves as Senior Vice President of Product Engineering and Manufacturing for Sarcos Robotics. He is responsible for developing, commercializing, and deploying the Company’s technology solutions to enable business growth.
Dr. Rowatt’s career has encompassed various roles within the energy and robotics industries, including assignments in Europe and Asia. Before Sarcos, Rowatt spent more than 20 years at Schlumberger, where he served as an Engineer, Research Director, and finally as Vice President of Engineering and Manufacturing. His work at Schlumberger included developing technologies for some of the energy industry’s most challenging problems, including slim-hole rotary steerable drilling tools, electric submersible pumps for extreme high-temperature environments, advanced materials for zonal isolation, and stimulation, and automated well construction systems.
Dr. Rowatt holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Aerospace Engineering from the University of Illinois and his Master of Science and Ph.D. degrees in Mechanical Engineering and Materials Science from Rice University. Rowatt is a member of the American Society of Mechanical Engineers and the Society of Petroleum Engineers.
